Abel has been part of our sanctuary family since 2016, arriving with another cat, K, after both were placed on the euthanasia list at NYC ACC. At the time, neither was considered adoptable.

Abel is a cautious and skittish soul — quick to run if approached, and not comfortable with being touched. Though human contact is difficult for him, we respect his boundaries and provide the safety and stability he needs to feel secure.

Now a senior, Abel requires ongoing medical monitoring, regular vet visits, and medications that aren’t always easy to administer. Because of his behavioral challenges, the sanctuary is the place where he can live out his life in peace, on his own terms.
